The device has a roof panel (10) mounted pivotingly between a closed position (I) and an open position, where the panel is extended above a cab interior of a vehicle, in the closed position. The panel is turned at a level of a rear part of the vehicle, in the open position. A motor unit (30) drives the panel rotative between the closed position and open position in an asymmetric manner at a level of a side, where the motor unit is moved with respect to a pivoting axis (X) of the panel.
