Method for analyzing composite particles with a diameter of less than 1 μm to determine their stoichiometry. According to this method, at least once, the following steps b1) and b2) are carried out: b1) a laser shot (10) is made on a stream of an aerosol containing the particles to be analyzed, so as to form a plasma ( 12), and b2) acquiring an emission spectrum (18) from the plasma (12) with an optical spectrometer (68) equipped with a detector (66, 70); and then, c) from the emission spectrum (s) (18) obtained (s), the stoichiometry of the particles is determined. Analysis system allowing the implementation of this method. Advantageously, the stoichiometry is determined almost in real time, allowing the use for the conduct of processes.
