Extract of baobab fruit and Hibiscus calixfor the preparation of a cosmetic, pharmaceutical and dermo-cosmetic composition to inhibit the expression of sirtuins in epidermal cells at very low dose of few thousandths of percent and inhibit the contraction of muscle fibers at doses of a few percents while stimulating the expression of claudine-1 epidermal protein and heat-shock protein-90, is claimed. ACTIVITY : Dermatological. MECHANISM OF ACTION : Sirtuin-1 expression inhibitor. The ability of (I) to inhibit sirtuin-1 expression was tested using epidermal cells (keratinocytes). The result showed that the dry extract of native baobab fruit (at a concentration of 0.008%) reduced the expression of sirtuin (SIRT-1) epidermal cells (keratinocytes) of 55%.
