The tong (10) has a frame including a central part (14) oriented vertically, and arms (16) extended in a star shaped manner from a portion of a lower end of the central part. A mobile unit (18) is located at top of the arms. Connection parts (40) i.e. rods, connect the mobile unit to tabs (30), and are pivotingly mounted around a first horizontal axis and a second horizontal axis (A3) respectively carried by the mobile unit and a higher part of each tab such that vertical movement of the mobile unit permits pivoting of the tabs and locking/unlocking of jaws (32) of the tabs.
