Permanent deformation of keratin fibers, preferably hair, comprises: (a) mechanical stretching of keratin fibers by rolling the fibers on a means for mechanical stretching to form curls; (b) applying a reducing composition at alkaline pH to the keratin fibers; (c) optionally rinsing the keratin fibers; (d) setting a means for covering of the mechanical stretching means to form a closed space to maintain at 50-250[deg] C; (e) step of heating; and (f) optionally fixing by oxidation after removal of coverage means. Independent claims are included for: (1) a device of mechanical stretching comprising: at least one means for mechanical stretching of keratin fibers; and at least one means for covering the fibers, where the means for mechanical stretching, or covering means, or both means are a means for heating; and (2) a kit comprising: at least a device and a compartment containing a reducing composition.
