The seat (2) has a backrest (5) and a base (4) displaced separately between a usage position and a storage position. The backrest extends horizontally at a level of the top of the backrest in the usage position to form an upper partition that delimits a storage space (13) towards the top. The base extends vertically to the top from a lateral edge of the base in the usage position to form a lateral partition that laterally delimits the storage space. An independent claim is also included for a device for modular arrangement of seats in a motor vehicle.
