A method for laying down a thickness of plastic material on one side of a sheet (4) of textile material with holes distributed over the entire sheet, involves (a) depositing the plastic (2) in a viscous state onto a continuous transfer support (1), (b) bringing the plastic (2) into contact with one side of the textile sheet (4) and (c) separating the support (1) from the sheet (4) leaving the viscous plastic (2) more or less on the material and not on the holes. An independent claim is also included for textile material with holes, covered with elastomer by the above method, so that the material forms a zone of friction and support with the skin on an article of lingerie.
