The device (1) has a catadioptric system (2) coupled to an image sensor (3) e.g. complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor sensor. The system has a convex revolution mirror (4) for collecting optical fields between an upper angle (5) and a lower angle (6) with respect to a plane (P) perpendicular to a revolution axis (7). The mirror produces a reflected ray bundle (8). An optical group (9) is equipped with lenses for projecting the reflected rays on the image sensor. The optical group includes diverging lenses (L2, L4) for compensating the curve of the field induced by the convex mirror.
