摘要

The method involves determining temperature of a piston of an engine by calculating a model i.e. first-order heat balance equation, where the model takes into account thermal inertia of the piston. The model takes into account heat-transfer coefficient between cooling water of the engine and the piston, and heat-transfer coefficient between lubricating oil of the engine and the piston. Temperature of the piston during starting of the engine is estimated from a temperature determined at engine stop preceding the starting of the engine. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for controlling an engine (2) a vehicle comprising an engine.
