The method involves heating a piston to temperature above the melting point of a piston material by using an inductive heating process, where the piston is heated for maximum of ten seconds at temperature of about 800 degree centigrade. The piston is molded at the temperature over the melting point at pressure of about 2.5 N/square-millimeter, where the molding process is commenced during heating and is stopped during cooling of the piston material. A trough edge and/or a trough bump and/or a piston pin hole are formed in the piston.
