Use of at least one organic salt (I) having a melting point of less than 150[deg] C, comprising a cation and an anion with balance electric charges, where the anion is iodide or bromide and the cation is pyridinium, pyridazinium, pyrimidinium, pyrazinium, imidazolium, pyrazolium, oxazolium, thiazolium, pyrrolidinium, piperidinium, pyrrolium, morpholinium, thiophenium, ammonium, phosphonium, sulfonium and guanidinium cations, to reduce the concentration of ozone and/or eliminate ozone present in the atmosphere and/or in the air, is claimed. Independent claims are included for: (1) a method of elaboration of ozone trap, comprising formation of, on the surface of optionally porous solid support, coating comprising an at least one organic salt, which is adsorbed on at least one part of the surface of the support and/or in its porosity when the support is porous; (2) the ozone trap, comprising optionally porous solid support comprising a coating of at least one organic sa (3) a method for trapping ozone in the atmosphere or ambient air, comprising contacting the atmosphere or ambient air with ozone trap; and (4) device for ozone purification device or analyzing pollutants, where the device is equipped with at least one ozone trap.
