Biliary shunt to connect gall bladder and gastrointestinal tract

A biliary shunt 520 comprises a tubular component for deployment between the gallbladder 14 and a location within the gastrointestinal tract 30 of a patient, and which has a proximal end and a distal end with a lumen 524 extending therethrough. It may be configured with a flareable end, which may be generally hemispherical. One or more fenestrations may also be provided. The device 520 may comprise a retainable feature and even have clips to secure it in position; it may be formed from a bioresorbable material. Deployment of the device can be achieved by use of an endoscope or a guidance catheter, creating a duct or fistula through the wall 13 of the gallbladder and the wall 11 of the gastrointestinal tract. The tube provides for drainage of the gallbladder 14 into the duodenum 30, and may form part of a kit of parts used for treating biliary disease.
