PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst component capable of manufacturing an α-olefin-(meth)acrylic acid copolymer excellent in mechanical and thermal physical properties, and applicable as a useful molding, without depending on a high-pressure radical method, and a method of manufacturing the copolymer using the same.;SOLUTION: This α-olefin polymerization catalyst is obtained by reacting a ligand selected from the group comprising triaryl phosphines or triaryl arsines, with a transition metal compounds of the eighth to tenth groups.
