PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent molten metal from hanging down and falling down in a sphere shape from a welding portion when the metal plates are mutually butted at the grooves of the metal plates and are welded.SOLUTION: In a region of one groove to be butted, where welding is carried out in one pass, protrusion portions 92a and 92b, and a depressed portion 91 are continuously formed along a long-side direction of the groove. Thereafter, laser arc hybrid welding is carried out using, as an aiming position of a laser beam 16 and a wire 17, positions on an intersection 96 of a surface 95 including a center region of a gap between the grooves formed by the depressed portion 91, and an edge portion of a side irradiated by the laser beam 16 in a region where the protrusion portion 92 and the depressed portion 91 are formed.
