INTERCEPTION PROJECTILE AND INTERCEPTION SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-performance interception projectile and interception system capable of effectively intercepting a missile such as an APFSDS (Armor Piercing Fin Stabilized Discarding Sabot) without causing enlargement of scale.;SOLUTION: The interception projectile 30 includes an explosive charge 32 filled around an axis of a bottomed cylindrical shell 31, a powder-like heat resistant material 33 filled around the explosive charge 32 in the shell 31 and having a melting point higher than a temperature of heat generated by ignition to the explosive charge 32, and an electronic type fuse 34 igniting the explosive charge 32. The powder-like heat resistant material 33 is formed of lightweight non-metal having heat resistance such as silicon carbide (SiC), micro-glass beads, powdery diamond, limestone, or marble, or alternatively, lightweight metal having heat resistance such as titanium alloy, or tungsten alloy.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
