PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose a method for regenerating an ion exchange resin by which the ion exchange resin having been used for removing an acid component from an amine liquid can be regenerated inexpensively in such a way that the amine in an ion exchange resin layer is effectively recovered, a loss of the amine liquid is diminished and the amount of the amine to flow in the liquid waste to be regenerated is reduced to facilitate the treatment of the liquid waste.;SOLUTION: The amine liquid, which absorbs acid gas in an absorption column 1, is regenerated primarily in a regeneration column 2 and a part of the primarily-regenerated amine liquid is regenerated secondarily in a cation exchange column 11 and an anion exchange column 12. The method for regenerating the ion exchange resin which is used for the above secondary regeneration of the amine liquid, comprises: a gas replacement step of introducing nitrogen gas into the ion exchange resin layer from above to make the amine liquid flow out of the cation or anion exchange column from the bottom thereof; an amine liquid falling step of making the amine liquid stuck to the ion exchange resin fall down by continuing the introduction of nitrogen gas even after the amine liquid flows out; and a water replacement step of introducing water into the cation or anion exchange column to fill up the ion exchange resin layer with water, when the falling of the amine liquid from the ion exchange resin layer is stopped, wherein water is made to flow down as a downflow, the amine liquid stuck to the ion exchange resin is washed out, the amine liquid is replaced with a water phase and the amine is recovered.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
