PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an opened inorganic fiber bundle for composite materials capable of avoiding contact of fibers in the fiber bundle and forming an interfacial layer on whole surface of each fiber for getting a ceramic-based composite material having sufficient strength and breaking energy and exhibiting excellent durability under stress in an oxidizing atmosphere at a high temperature, a method for producing the fiber bundle, and a ceramic-based composite material reinforced with the fiber bundle and having sufficient strength and breaking energy and durability.;SOLUTION: There are provided the opened inorganic fiber bundle for composite materials, wherein powder of a resin disappearing by being essentially decomposed at 1,000°C or less in an inert atmosphere is attached to the surface of the inorganic fibers constituting the fiber bundle and the inorganic fiber bundles are collected with a resinous sizing agent and a coupling agent, and the ceramic-based composite material obtained by using the opened inorganic fiber bundle for a composite material and forming a ceramic material as a matrix between the fibers.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
