PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cladding material for building which can be checked best suitably as to the development of a deteriorated topcoat, as well as a method for checking coating deterioration of the cladding material and a method for applying the cladding material.;SOLUTION: An outside wall material 10 includes a rectangular flat plate-like base material 11, and a primer coat applying layer 12 is formed on the surface of the base material 11. Besides, a top coat applying layer 13 is formed on the surface of the primer coat applying layer 12. In addition, the primer coat applying layer 12 contains a fluorescent material 18 which emits light under exposure to a specified light. For the fluorescent material 18, a fluorescent pigment which emits light under exposure to light of the ultraviolet wavelength range, is used.
