PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a luminous composition with afterglow properties, an ink composition with afterglow properties, and forgery-discriminating printed matter having characteristics which are identified by the people with knowledge of characteristics of an imparted forgery prevention technique by an forgery-discriminating method using simple equipment, but are hardly noticed by the people without the information, and an forgery-discriminating method. PSOLUTION: The luminous composition with afterglow properties comprises at least one or more illuminants X and at least one or more illuminants Y. The illuminant Y has a shorter afterglow time after excitation light stops than the illuminant X. The afterglow time of the illuminant X is longer or equal to 10 ms and less than 1 s.
