PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for continuous surface modification of a polymer film whereby the surface modification of a long polymer film is efficiently and continuously carried out; to provide an apparatus for the continuous surface modification of the polymer film, which is suitable for carrying out the method; and to provide the long polymer film obtained by the method.;SOLUTION: The method for the continuous surface modification of the polymer film by forming an ion injection layer at the surface portion, is characterized by the followings. When the long polymer film is carried toward the prescribed direction along the circumference of a high-voltage applying rotary can, ions in plasma generated by applying only negative high-voltage to the can are injected into the surface portion of the film.
