PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discrimination and measurement technique, in an operating state of two or more cylinders for enabling reduction of a number of sensors to be used, reducing the load on an apparatus for signal processing too, enabling high-speed processing and allowing its use for on-board control panel, or the like, for automatic application.;SOLUTION: A behavior sensor 7 for detecting the behavior of a cylinder structure 2, including two or more cylinders in a positive displacement machine under an operating condition, is attached to the cylinder structure 2, in a noncontact manner with a combustion gas within a cylinder; individual signals for each cylinder corresponding respective cylinders are discriminated by a discrimination means from a signal from the sensor; and a signal indicating an operating state of respective cylinders is derived by using the individual signal.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
