PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for identifying a target from a sonar image accurately.;SOLUTION: The system includes: an edge detection means which detects an area in which the rate of decrease of a reflected sound level with respect to distance in the traveling direction obtained by performing distribution analysis on the reflected sound level along the traveling direction of a sound signal sent by a target detection sonar positioned on the water or underwater is larger than a preset value as an edge area; and a sound pressure level analysis means which detects an area which includes the edge area as an end and in which a reflected sound level is lower than an average reverberation level calculated on the basis of two-dimensional image data as a shadow area.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
