PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for detecting nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) in a sample. PSOLUTION: This method and apparatus is a method and an apparatus for high resolution proton nuclear magnetic resonance and imaging (NMR/MRI) which detects NMR from a sample through a magnetic flux transformer, using a high critical temperature (high Tc) superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID) fluxmeter in a microtesla magnetic field. Both SQUID and an input coil shield environmental noise and are placed in a superconducting container which keeps SQUID in a stable operating state.
