PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber coupling external cavity semiconductor laser which improves optical fiber coupling efficiency and easily narrows the bandwidth of oscillation spectrum and controls the wavelength thereof, and to provide a sensor for detecting a trace gas using the optical fiber coupling external cavity semiconductor laser.;SOLUTION: The optical fiber coupling external cavity semiconductor laser includes a semiconductor laser which oscillates laser light, an external cavity which amplifies the intensity of incident laser light to emit feedback laser light, an optical fiber which is placed between the semiconductor laser and the external cavity to emit the laser light to the external cavity and emit the feedback laser light to the semiconductor laser, and an optical fiber Bragg grating disposed in the middle of the optical fiber.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
