PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an access control method and a device of a media file which can display a favorite list simultaneously, and playing a particular image file in the favorite list instantly. PSOLUTION: A media file access control method for a digital media player includes step for: (a) receiving a mode selection instruction; (b) determining whether the mode selection instruction corresponds to a lite mode or a computer file mode; and (c) performing steps of loading a plurality of multimedia files according to a content of a pre-established favorite list recording respective names and storage locations of the multimedia files if the mode selection instruction corresponds to the lite mode, and displaying thumbnails of the multimedia files in a first region of a screen including a display element 31.
