PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a human body mounting type static eliminator and a static electricity eliminating method, in which static electricity charged on a human body is eliminated by using an ion generation element that adopts a high-efficiency discharge system capable of generating high-concentration ions with low concentration of ozone, the electricity eliminating method being performed while reducing deterioration of electrodes and accumulation of dust at operation for a long period of time.;SOLUTION: The static eliminator is formed in a structure which has a mounting structure on a human body or a portable configuration, and eliminates static electricity charged on a human body by using positive ions and negative ions generated with an ion generation element. The ion generation element is characterized by being a fine electrode ion generation element having a discharge electrode with fine protrusions, an induction electrode, and a dielectric sandwiched between them. The discharge electrode is structured with the use of a linear conductive material having a plurality of fine protrusions with a size of 0.05 mm or more and 1 mm or less, and the mounting structure has a structure capable of being mounted on articles for wear such as clothes, footwear, hats, personal ornaments, body ornaments, head ornaments, protective clothes, protectors or the like.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
