PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a helium cooling type regenerator having comparatively good heat exchange performance.;SOLUTION: In this helium cooling type regenerator storing cold of a working medium flowing in the main flowing direction, the helium cooling type regenerator includes a plurality of first hollow pipes and a plurality of second hollow pipes in which the working medium is circulated, each hollow pipe is opened at least at its one end, the plurality of first hollow pipes and the plurality of second hollow pipes are arranged in the direction approximately in parallel with the main flowing direction, the plurality of hollow pipes have the circular or elliptical shape on the cross section vertical to the main flowing direction, a maximum dimension of the cross section vertical to the main flowing direction, of the plurality of first hollow pipes is larger than a maximum dimension of a cross section vertical to the main flowing direction, of the plurality of second hollow pipes, and the plurality of second hollow pipes are disposed in clearance gap parts formed by arrangement of the plurality of first hollow pipes.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
