PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical type position detection device, a display device with a position detection function and an optical type position detection method for precisely achieving position detection even when a temperature change occurs.;SOLUTION: In an optical type position detection device 10, when the temperature characteristics of light sources 12A to 12E for position detection are compensated, a light source 12T for temperature compensation is turned on in such a state that the light sources 12A to 12E for position detection are turned off, and the effective value of a drive pulse to be supplied to the light sources 12A to 12E for position detection is corrected on the basis of the light reception result of a light detector 15 at that time. Thus, the light sources 12A to 12E for position detection emit position detection rays of light with the same intensity as that of a reference temperature regardless of a circumferential temperature.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
