PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optically active polymer which can perform simultaneously the control of the color change as well as the new spiral structure formation, and the spiral winding direction even in a solid state or film state.;SOLUTION: This method for controlling reversibly a self-organization polymer film comprises: imparting to such a polymer film with the unidirectionally wound spiral state as the polymer molecular chain is controlled to a cis-form expressed by general formula (1): -(-CH=CR-)n- (wherein, n is an integer of 10 or more; and R is an optically active carbon-containing aromatic or aliphatic group), at least one stimulus selected from the group consisting of the contact with a solvent, heat, pressure, light, magnetic field and electric field, thus changing at least one characteristic selected from the group consisting of the spiral direction, spiral pitch, spiral structure, polymer crystal structure, and polymer molecule orientation, consequently controlling reversibly the conjugated state of a polymer chain or polymer aggregate in the film, the film optical properties, and/or the film circular dichroism.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
