PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary monitoring radar system which enables returning of a mode S response from a real plane which does not return the mode S response to an MIIP question due to the effect of multipath.;SOLUTION: While an all-call question by a mode S is performed by performing the MIIP question for at least a part of a monitoring area covered by a mode S radar ground station, in a control device 16, a response signal by a mode A/C is made to return from a ghost plane or the real plane and thereby it is checked by reflection from a reflecting object whether the ghost plane GT is shifted to a roll call. In the case when mode A addresses added to a plurality of individual response signals returned from different azimuths agree with each other, an SLO scan is executed in target directions wherefrom the response signals are not returned for the all-call question by the mode S, and the response signal returned for an SLO question is detected as a real response.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
