PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that place-name information cannot be acquired when there exists mesh information that does not include the place-name information.;SOLUTION: A reverse geocoding device 10 includes: a proximity mesh determining section 14a which determines that the mesh information which includes the place-name information among pieces of information in the proximity of the object position mesh information is proximity mesh information when object position mesh information does not include place-name information; a distance measuring section 15a which measures a measurement distance that is a distance between an area indicated by the position information included in the proximity mesh information determined by the proximity mesh determining section 14a and an object point; and a place-name acquisition section 17a which acquires a corresponding place-name from the area name in accordance with the measurement distance measured by the distance measuring section 15a out of a plurality of area names constituting the place-name information included in the proximity mesh information.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
