PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To estimate the visual axis direction of a user with high precision by estimating a drift with high precision. PSOLUTION: The visual axis detector is equipped with: a drift estimator 20 for estimating the drift noise contained in a set of observed voltages on the basis of components outside subspace of the eye potential, being the gathering of the sets of eye potentials theoretically observed in a plurality of electrodes, in a plurality of respective observed voltages, being the eye potentials produced in a living body observed by a plurality of the electrodes; and a visual axis detector 10 for detecting the visual axis direction of the user on the basis of a signal filtered out drift noise, estimated from a plurality of the observed voltages by the drift estimator 20.
