PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a first agent for hair deformation, easy in controlling the degree of softness of the hair in hair deformation treatment.SOLUTION: There is provided a first agent for hair deformation which is compounded with [A] a cationic surfactant, [B] an anionic surfactant, [C] dithiodiglycolic acid or a salt thereof, and [D] a reductant, wherein the compounding ratio of the [A] component to 1 pt.mass of the [B] component is ≥1 pt.mass and ≤15 pts.mass. The [A] cationic surfactant is preferably an alkyltrimethylammonium salt. The compounding amount of the [A] cationic surfactant is preferably ≥1.0 mass% and ≤5.0 mass%.
