PHARMACEUTICAL COMPOSITION OF SAFINGOL AND METHOD FOR USING THE SAME

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pharmaceutical composition delivering a sphingolipid that is effective for a treatment of cancer and other hyperproliferactive diseases, and to provide a method of using the pharmaceutical composition of the sphingolipid. PSOLUTION: There is provided a stabilized solution that substantially comprises (a) a sphingolipid, (b) a lactic acid, and (c) stabilizer optionally, wherein a molar ratio is 1:1 to 10:1 to the sphingolipid of the lactic acid. There are also provided: an emulsion formulation that substantially comprises (a) the lactic acid, (b) the sphingolipid being present in an amount of about 0.1 to about 30 mg/ml emulsion, (b) an isotonic agent optionally, and (c) a phospholipid being present in an amount of about 0.2 to about 200 mg/ml emulsion; and the method for producing and using these compositions.
