PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light beam path monitor and a light beam path monitoring method for measuring both Fresnel reflection and Rayleigh scattering without changing a pulse width of a light pulse.;SOLUTION: The light beam path monitor 101 includes: a light pulse generation part 11 for producing a light pulse P_f having a pulse with a small width and a pulse with a large width, and outputting it to an optical fiber 100 to be measured; and a light receiving part 13 for receiving return light P_b which is obtained by reflecting the light pulse from the light pulse generation part 11 by the optical fiber 100 to be measured in a first frequency band in accordance with a pulse width of the pulse with a small width and a second frequency band in accordance with a pulse width of the pulse with a large width.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
