PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gene region of a determining marker of anticancer agent resistance. PSOLUTION: A method for determining the anticancer agent resistance is provided. The new function of a dexamethasone-induced protein gene is identified. In the dexamethasone-induced protein gene, its promotor region is methylated, and in the case that the expression of the dexamethasone-induced protein becomes less by the methylation, an apoptosis by the cascade of caspase is inhibited. Thereby, the methylation of the dexamethasone-induced protein gene region of cancer cells is detected, and in the case that the methylation is found, the anticancer agent resistance is determined to be present.
