PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make sure that hydrogen can be generated efficiently at a low temperature.;SOLUTION: This method for manufacturing a platinum catalyst supporting an added oxide comprises the following processes: (I) a first impregnation process to impregnate a support powder (1") with a platinum salt solution (2), (II) a second impregnation process to impregnate the support powder (1') impregnated with platinum salt, with an added metallic salt solution (3) composed of an addition metal salt containing at least one metal belonging to Group 4A, 5A, 6A or 7A of the periodic table, (III) an air calcination process to air calcine the support powder (1") which is already passed through the treatment of the second impregnation process, and (IV) a hydrogen reduction process to manufacture the platinum catalyst supporting the added oxide to which the addition metallic oxide is added by subjecting to hydrogen reduction the air calcined support powder (1").;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
