PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a print setting optimization device, image forming apparatus, and print setting optimization method for preventing a user from being confused by print setting while preventing a useless increase in printing cost.;SOLUTION: The print setting optimization device is provided with: a visibility determination part 203 which predictively determines visibility in printing, based on print setting information to characters included in printing object data to output a visibility determination result and illegible character presentation information; a presentation information generation part 202 which generates and outputs presentation information 219 from the visibility determination result 217 and the illegible character presentation information 218 to be output from the visibility determination part 203; and a print setting generation part 200 which suppresses an increase in printing cost as tentative change, determines and output the print setting information to improve character visibility, when the visibility determination result 217 fails.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
