PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily selecting and obtaining a mutant capable of accumulating large quantities of polyphosphoric acids therein through genetically modifying microorganisms by mutation treatment, and to provide the mutant excellent in the ability to concentrate or remove phosphorus and the ability to dissolve insoluble phosphorus metal salts found in soil. PSOLUTION: The method comprises subjecting microorganisms to mutation treatment, culturing the resultant microorganisms in an X-phosphoric acid- containing medium, and selecting a colony presenting blue color.
