PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a designing technique for a welding electrode with built-in ultrasonic sensor, by which the effect of a secondary wave is eliminated.;SOLUTION: In Fig.(a), a reflected wave 18 relates to a nugget. When a secondary wave 21 shown in Fig.(b) and a secondary wave 22 shown in Fig.(c) are in the right side of the figure with respect to a reflected wave 19 shown in Fig.(a), at least the reflected wave 18, which is most important, is not overlapped with the secondary waves 21, 22. By satisfying the conditions: 2(Td+Tt+Tw)4Td and 2(Td+Tt+Tw)2(Td+2Tt), the secondary waves are temporally separated from the reflected wave from the nugget.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
