PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor containing, in its photosensitive layer, stilbene-based compound that is used suitably for a photosensitive layer of the electrophotographic photoreceptor, has high compatibility with binder resin, has relatively high charge mobility, has resistance to an image blurring-generating material such as oxidizing gas, and has high electrical characteristics.;SOLUTION: The electrophotographic photoreceptor has the photosensitive layer on an electroconductive support. The photosensitive layer contains at least one stilbene-based compound having a structure expressed by formula [1]. In the formula, each of Ar1 and Ar2 is a phenyl group where substituent constant σp in Hammett rule is 0.20 or smaller and which has at least one 1-4C organic group or an aromatic condensation polycyclic hydrocarbon group where substituent constant σp in Hammett rule is 0.20 or smaller and which optionally has a 1-4C organic group.
