PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing single crystal spinel-type LiMnSB2/SBOSB4/SBnanowires which exhibit a large capacity, stable cycle characteristics, and a stable plateau even in a range of from low output density to high output density when they are used as a positive material of a Li ion battery; and to provide a high rate electrode and a Li ion battery, using the spinel-type LiMnSB2/SBOSB4/SBnanowires. PSOLUTION: Single crystal sodium manganate (NaSB0.44/SBMnOSB2/SB) nanowires are obtained by reacting MnSB3/SBOSB4/SBand a 1-2 M aqueous sodium hydroxide solution at pressure of 1-500 atm and a temperature of 180-250C for 6-240 h and drying a reaction product after washing it. Further, single crystal LiMnSB2/SBOSB4/SBnanowires are obtained by washing and drying the single crystal sodium manganate (NaSB0.44/SBMnOSB2/SB) nanowires, then reacting the dried single crystal sodium manganate (NaSB0.44/SBMnOSB2/SB) nanowires and an excess amount of LiNOSB3/SB/LiCl at a temperature of 400-500C, washing and drying the resulting reaction product, and heat treating the dried reaction product at a temperature of 700-900C.
