PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink useful in inkjet printing including thermal inkjet printing, piezoelectric inkjet printing and continuous inkjet printing.;SOLUTION: An inkjet ink composition comprises a modified pigment particle (macromolecular chromophore) having both an functional group adhered due to its water-solubility and a vinyl polymer chain adhered by covalent bonding. This coloring ink exhibits high stain resistance, high printing quality, improved oozing control and improved water resistance when applied to a medium.
