CARRIER POSITION DETERMINING DEVICE AND METHOD OF DETERMINING POSITION OF CARRIER

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrier position determining device of simple structure capable of discriminating the position of a carrier. PSOLUTION: An electromagnetic induction type RFID tag 3 is installed in a carrier 1. A tag reader 4 and a timing sensor 5 are arranged to face a carrying passage. The tag reader 4 includes: two antennas 13 and 14 for transmitting and receiving communication waves having the same frequency; and an antenna control section. A communication distance of each of the antennas 13 and 14 is set to be different from each other in size. Each of the antennas 13 and 14 is operated in order of the antenna having a larger communication distance based on the detection signal when the timing sensor 5 detects the carrier 1. A signal determining section 19 determines signal intensity of the reflected wave of the RFID tag 3 in each antenna 13 and 14. A main control section 20 determines combination of results of determinations by the signal determining section 19, and discriminates whether the carrying position of the carrier 1 is normal or not.
