HORMONE-INSENSITIVE PROSTATE CANCER THERAPY METHOD AND THERAPY EFFECT PREDICTION METHOD

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a novel method for therapy against hormone-insensitive prostate cancer. PSOLUTION: A therapy method which is heretofore not attainably excellent is provided by applying a combination of a sequential maximum androgen blockade (MAB) therapy and tegafur-uracil to a hormone-insensitive prostate cancer patient, especially a hormone-insensitive prostate cancer patient of an age of 70 or older. A more sufficient therapy effect is provided by selecting the prostate cancer patient according to the quantity of thymidylate synthetase (TS) gene expression as a marker.
