PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for promoting the formation of the laticifer of a laticifer-having plant, mainly a latex-producing plant such as Ficus elastica, and to provide an agent for promoting the formation of the laticifer, suitable for the method.;SOLUTION: There are provided the method for promoting the formation of the laticifer, characterized by increasing the content or contents of one or more compounds selected from the group consisting of prostaglandin E1 and methabolites thereof, and analogous compounds thereof in a plant; the method for promoting the formation of the laticifer, wherein the methabolites are one or more compounds selected from prostaglandin A1 and prostaglandin B1; the method for promoting the formation of the laticifer, wherein the plant is stimulated with the compound; and the agent for promoting the formation of the laticifer, characterized by containing one or more compounds selected from the group consisting of prostaglandin E1 and methabolites thereof, and analogous compounds thereof, as active ingredients.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
