PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an emergency escape structure and an emergency escape method of a sheet shutter, allowing an escape in a short time, by easily removing a curtain from side rails, without requiring a scaffold such as a tripod and a cutting tool, in an emergency by power failure in a curtain full closure state.;SOLUTION: This emergency escape structure has a pair of left-right side rails 3 having a curtain guide groove 6, a sheet-like curtain 8 liftably opening and closing between these side rails 3 and a plurality of curtain slipping-out preventive engaging pieces 9 respectively arranged in a series in both side edge parts of this curtain 8 and slidingly engaging with an inside surface of the side rails 3.
