PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new fragrant material (aromatizing or flavoring composition) useful for foods, drinks and cosmetics. SOLUTION: The aromatizing, flavoring or tobacco flavor imparting composition contains (+)-3,4-dimethyl-5-pentyl-2(5H)-furanone and/or (-)-3,4-dimethyl-5- pentyl-2(5H)-furanone at a ratio not to contain equal amount of the components. It is suitable as an additive for foods, drinks, perfumes, cosmetic and tobacco.
