PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phenol resin composition for a frictional material and a thermosetting phenol resin composition for a frictional material that have improved flame retardancy without diminishing the mechanical properties of the frictional material.;SOLUTION: The phenol resin composition for a frictional material includes: a novolac type phenol resin (a) having a resin-softening point of 70-130°C; a triazine compound (b) obtained by reacting at least one or more compounds selected from the group consisting of melamine, melamine cyanurate, guanamine, adipoguanamine, benzoguanamine, acetoguanamine, succinoguanamine, melam, and melem, with aldehydes; or an aromatic amine compound (c) obtained by reacting an aromatic amine with aldehydes; and has a nitrogen content of 4-30 wt.% of the total resin composition.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
