This invention discloses a probe cover for an ear thermometer and manufacturing method thereof, wherein an engaging means encircles the bottom of the probe. The probe cover comprises a main member with an open end and a closed end, a retaining member around the base of the main member, and a film member surrounding the retaining member, wherein the main body is a hollow structure and the closed end permits infrared radiation pass through. The probe cover is of unitary construction. Particularly, a plurality of protrusions are formed in the inner side of the retaining cover and adjoining the film member for allowing the passage of the probe through and lodging in the gap between the engaging means and the probe. Hence, the probe cover is capable of securely attaching to the probe.
